Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.
